Hi, I’m Carrie, and SafePawse was born from two of my biggest loves — dogs and travel.

I’ve always loved caring for animals, but since I can’t currently have a dog of my own, I started walking dogs for friends. It brought so much joy into my life that I decided to start helping others too!

While exploring New Orleans, I realized how dog-friendly the city is — yet how tough it can be for travelers who want to enjoy tours or restaurants that aren’t pet-friendly. More than once, people visiting asked if I could watch their pup while they went on a gator tour or out to dinner. That’s when it clicked — why not combine the things I love most?

I grew up in Oregon, surrounded by nature and animals, and later earned a Bachelor’s in Economics. I’m also a proud grandmother and a lifelong traveler. Creating Safe Pawse felt like the perfect way to bring all of that together — caring for pets, helping people, and connecting with travelers from around the world.

SafePawse is more than pet sitting. It’s peace of mind with a personal touch — knowing your furry friend is safe, happy, and loved while you explore this amazing city.

And it all started with one little dog named Sassy, who taught me just how much our pups really mean to us.
