1) Services

We provide in-room hotel/Airbnb pet sitting and on-leash dog walking, plus related care (feeding, water refresh, basic cleanup, medication administration as directed). We do not provide veterinary services, grooming, or boarding/kenneling.

2) Booking, Payments & Pricing

  • How to pay: Online checkout via WooCommerce with Stripe (card/Apple/Google Pay) and PayPal/Venmo (via PayPal).

  • When payment is due: At booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Unpaid bookings are not confirmed.

  • Deposits: We may require a deposit for longer bookings, peak dates, or events.

  • Taxes/fees: Applicable taxes and payment-processor fees may apply.

  • Tips: Optional and appreciated; non-refundable.

  • Payment-processor fees may be non-refundable except where prohibited by law.

3) Cancellations & Refunds

  • 24+ hours before start: Full refund to original payment method (payment-processor fees may be non-refundable).

  • 6–24 hours before start: 50% refundable.

  • Under 6 hours / No-show / Can’t access room within 15 minutes: Non-refundable.

  • SafePawse cancels: Full refund or free reschedule—your choice.

  • Early return: Once a session begins, unused time isn’t refundable.

4) Pet Handoff & Departure Protocol

 If you are not present at the scheduled end time and I have another client, I will end the session on time and secure your pet as pre-authorized (e.g., crate, gated, or left loose as approved) and then depart. Pets will be left as discussed in your booking notes. I will only do this if I’m not able to stay. If I can stay, I will, at $10 per 10 minutes (billed in 10-minute increments). I’ll refresh water, tidy routine messes, return keys per your instructions/hotel policy, and text a final update. Once I depart, care responsibility returns to you (or your designated contact/property). If your pet appears unsafe to leave as authorized, I may, at my discretion, extend briefly at the overtime rate or coordinate with hotel staff/your emergency contact. Any third-party costs (e.g., lock/room access, emergency vet) are your responsibility.

5) Client Responsibilities (Very Important)

You represent and warrant that:

  • Access: Hotel/Airbnb is informed that SafePawse will access the room/unit; keys/cards/codes will be provided; any property rules will be shared in advance.

  • Pet info: You’ve disclosed health issues, medications, allergies, bite history, anxiety triggers, and any aggressive behaviors.

  • Vaccinations/parasites: Pets are current on legally required vaccinations and reasonably free of fleas/ticks.

  • Equipment: You will provide a properly-fitted collar/harness and sturdy leash; for safety, we may refuse retractable leashes.

  • Emergencies: You will provide an emergency contact who can make decisions if you’re unreachable.

6) Safety & Right to Refuse

We may pause/adjust/refuse service if a situation appears unsafe (aggression, severe illness, extreme weather, hazardous conditions, hotel restrictions, etc.). For dogs exhibiting aggression or severe anxiety, we may require muzzle use, management changes, or decline service.

7) Weather Policy (New Orleans-realistic)

For your pet’s safety:

  • Heat/Storms: If the heat index ≥ 95°F, lightning, or severe weather is present, outdoor time may be shortened to relief breaks only, with the remainder indoors (play/engagement).

  • Hurricanes/evacuations: See Force Majeure below.

8) Hotels/Airbnbs & Property Rules

  • You authorize us to communicate with hotel/Airbnb staff as needed for access and safety.

  • We follow the reasonable property rules you provide in writing.

  • If a hotel/venue requests a Certificate of Insurance naming them as Additional Insured, we can provide it upon request before service.

9) Keys, Access & Security

  • You authorize SafePawse to hold and use access credentials (keys, keycards, codes) for the service window.

  • We will not duplicate keys. If keys are lost or malfunction, we’ll coordinate with the property/locksmith. (Our policy includes Lost Key coverage; cooperation with any claim process is required.)

  • For hotel booking, you authorize us to be listed as a guest visitor for room access during the service window.

10) Pet Health, Medication & Vet Authorization

  • Non-veterinary care: We can administer owner-provided oral/topical meds with your written instructions. We do not administer injections unless specifically agreed.

  • Emergency care authorization: If we reasonably believe your pet needs urgent care and you are unreachable, you authorize us to seek veterinary treatment, and you agree to be responsible for the cost.

    • Spending cap: Unless otherwise stated in writing, you authorize up to $500 in urgent care. We will attempt to contact you and your emergency contact as soon as practicable.

11) Photos & Social Media (Optional)

We may take and share pet updates privately with you during service. Public posting (website/socials) only with your explicit permission. You can withdraw permission at any time—see our Privacy Policy for details.

12) Damage, Clean-Up & Linen Policy

We tidy routine pet messes (accidents, spills) within reason. Extensive damage or specialized cleaning (e.g., stained upholstery, carpet extraction) will be coordinated with the property and you. See Liability below for how losses are handled.

13) Liability, Insurance & Limits

  • We carry General Liability and Animal Bailee (Care, Custody & Control) insurance appropriate for pet care providers.

  • Client responsibility: You remain responsible for pre-existing damage/conditions, and for your pet’s actions outside our care.

  • Limit of liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, SafePawse’s total liability for any claim arising from the services will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim, or (b) the applicable insurance proceeds actually received for that claim.

  • No special damages: We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or special damages (lost reservations, travel costs, etc.), except as required by law.

14) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SafePawse harmless from claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (i) your breach of these Terms; (ii) your pet’s behavior or condition that you failed to disclose; or (iii) your instructions that we reasonably follow.

15) Privacy

Your use of our site and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy (linked in the footer). Please review it for details about what we collect and how we use it.

16) Rescheduling & Time Windows

We operate within scheduled windows to account for traffic, hotel procedures, and weather. We’ll communicate promptly about any timing changes and work with you to reschedule if needed.

17) Prohibited / Ineligible Services

We do not accept: unvaccinated pets where required by law; aggressive animals without proper management; livestock or exotic animals; boarding/kenneling; training of protection/attack dogs; or any services prohibited by the hotel/Airbnb.

18) Force Majeure

We aren’t liable for delays/failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., hurricanes, floods, severe weather, utility outages, strikes, governmental actions, illness, or building emergencies). We’ll refund or reschedule when feasible.

19) Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana. Before making any claim, both parties agree to try to resolve disputes informally in good faith. If unresolved, the parties may bring claims in the Louisiana state small-claims court or another court of competent jurisdiction in Orleans Parish. Each party waives jury trial to the extent allowed by law.

20) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” will be updated when changes are posted. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
